WHY STUDY SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY

Christian leaders are frequently called upon to explain what they believe, why they believe it, and how Christian doctrine should inform ministry, personal conduct, family life, ethical decisions, and service to others.

The study of Systematic Theology helps students :

• develop an organized understanding of Christian doctrine;
• interpret Scripture more responsibly;

• recognize the relationship among biblical teachings;
• evaluate theological claims and doctrinal controversies;
• communicate Christian truth clearly;

• respond thoughtfully to contemporary questions;

• distinguish established doctrine from personal speculation;

• integrate theological knowledge with Christian character; and apply biblical truth responsibly in ministry and service
